👉 When fibres such as GRP, CFRP or BFRP are passed through various stations in a "strand drawing process" by means of a caterpillar, this is referred to as pultrusion. Here, the fibres are impregnated with resin using an injection box or also in an open resin bath and cut to size at the end of the drawing section or wound onto drums. In mechanical engineering and model making, pultruded rods are among the high-tech materials that are irreplaceable for innovative constructions. But sailboat construction and the sports industry are also considered important customers.
👉 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀: The extruded CFRP rods are extremely light, stiff, chemically resistant and have a low thermal expansion. These are just a few of the advantages that make CFRP rods preferable to metal or wooden rods. GRP rods, like CFRP rods, are permanently corrosion resistant.
A high product variety as well as a rational production of these versatile round and flat profiles are ensured with currently nine plants at CG TEC Carbon und Glasfasertechnik GmbH. The applications range from A for antennas to K for cables to Z for display rods. Important areas of application are model and mechanical engineering, measurement technology and medical technology, as well as cable technology.
